WHAT IS DEATH MEDITATION?
A transformative journey through the portals of birth, death, and rebirth. Many cultures honor and value death and dying by bringing awareness of impermanence into daily life. The Buddhist practice of maranasati invites mindfulness of one’s death by inviting presence at all times. This presencing of death is a core teaching in Tibetan Buddhism.
Dream guides you through the last moments of your life, creating a safe space to explore the ways you've lived and what matters most in your life.
WHY WOULD I WANT TO DIE?
To invite in more aliveness, presence, appreciation and joy and deepen your understanding of what’s important in your life, and what matters most to you.
Our relationship with death expands our capacity for living. We don’t have to wait until we encounter a terminal illness or the death of a loved one to connect with what matters most in life. In this Death Meditation, we embrace the Ultimate Reality in a safe and nurturing way that explores the continuing play of Life through Death.
The crux of it is: that when we lay down to die we actually invite in more life.
In Dream’s words: “Although initiated very early to death through the passing of my brother and grandfather, it was only in the last decade that I began a deeper relationship with the profound transformative power of death--through the back to back deaths of my father and my husband. Death has undoubtedly become one of my greatest teachers.”
IS THIS FOR ME?
This meditation is for anyone who’s curious about death, and especially can be especially beneficial for those:
…experiencing stuckness in some part of their lives and are seeking more connection and joy
…who are afraid of death
…who are facing their own imminent deaths or the death of loved ones
…interested in exploring change, impermanence, and the mystery of what happens when we die
This is an invitation to explore death as a pathway to transformation and a gateway to living a more present, curious, joy-filled life!
WHAT ARE WE REALLY GOING TO DO?
During this meditation Dream will guide you through the last hours of your life, into your body's death and back into your rebirth, inviting in opportunities to bring presence and loving awareness into those final hours. She is accompanied by the harmonic frequency of Grace Oh's previously recorded sound healing, nourishing your limbic system and taking you deeper into the practice.
Together we'll practice leaning into any fear that we may hold about death and explore NOW as the perfect moment to fully embrace life.
Ultimately, this is a powerful experience that reminds us of how we want to truly live.
We'll journey through the final moments of life, into the death of our bodies, and return born anew. In this practice, we can discover what it is that brings us most alive! Past practitioners have shared that this Ceremony brings them into an extra-ordinary state of consciousness, evoking memories of a DMT experience and Oneness.
love notes
It was a deep dive into the area of death I’ve always wanted to be more intimate with. There was a moment where I remembered something that always brings me a lot of pain. And I felt that pain lift after. Like just not there anymore. Which is miraculous. The verbal guidance and the soundscapes were incredible and incredibly loving. Thank you so so much.

That was my first time doing a death meditation and because of all of the holding and the process of it I could actually go, to go through and touch that experience more honestly. There was a moment in the middle of the night last night, well after the meditation, I woke up and I was in that in between sleeping and awake and I felt my body more exquisitely, it feels like more naturally, than ever before. It it was not fragile but knowing its own naturalness and it's impermanence.

What a beautifully powerful experience. I am so inspired. I found this meditation deeply healing, and I intend to keep practicing. I would love for you two to offer this again (or regularly). I would also refer my clients (I'm a psychotherapist and do integration work) as well! With immense gratitude for you both...

As you were speaking I felt how valuable what you were doing was, how death could come at any time, and after being part of this experience, I feel so much less afraid, like I could for the first time see how much beauty that transition could hold.
There was a moment toward the beginning when the sounds really picked up and I felt like my body was being lifted and stirred by their music, it was really transportive.
